Code(X) Alchemy

"Code(X) Alchemy," poetically signifies the manipulation of ancient Mesoamerican glyphic writing and English biblical text, drawing parallels to the alchemical process of the transformation of spiritual, psychological, or philosophical elements into precious material. While making this work I envisioned breaking a more than five hundred year cycle of indigenous suppression, with this ritual object symbolically shifting "last" to "first," ushering in a transformative era, where indigenous people and regeneration move to the forefront, embracing a narrative of resilience and renewal.
