Coatl and Conjuring Hands

2021

This ephemeral work foregrounds a large snake motif, a symbol of death, transformation and rebirth in indigenous Mesoamerica. The snake is surrounded by a sea of hands wielding a writing or painting stylus. Within the snake motif, a symbol denoting ancestor serves as a reminder that, amid the collapse of the current world, we can invoke our forebears to guide and support us as we forge a new path through imagination and creation.
